Health Lifestyles the In Thing Now

Hi Guys…

One of the healthier trends over the last decade is a turn towards living a healthy lifestyle. More of us are concentrating on healthy behaviors that make us feel better as oppossed to our weight.

Counting calories has become a way of life with easy access to online diet tools. We know more about portion sizes, fiber, carbs and fats than ever before and we’ve even learned how to read food labels in grocery stores and restaurants.

More restaurants are providing nutritional information on their menus and even fast food restaurants got on the bandwagon with salads, fruits and healthier choices. Best of all, this is the decade we started to understand that living a healthy lifestyle is quite an easy and rewarding choice to make and it will have a incredible impact on our longevity.

But many will lack the inner strength to battle their false desires for unhealthy, refined, processed, sugared, dead foods and will continue to build up the poisons in their bodies with their unhealthy lifestyles. The best way to break free of this cycle is detoxification. In order for one to begin a route to optimum health, one must work toward their optimum weight, as that is where true health lies. I was even reading today about caloric restriction for longevity and frankly it just makes a lot of sense.

There are many viewpoints that try to define healthy lifestyles. It has been proven, that depression, can weaken body defenses and allow problems to develop. In my own case, I believe that I allowed my divorce to interfere with my health. But many things come into play when considering a healthy lifestyle, I have not always choosen that right route, but I have always returned to it, and as I age, I am drawn even more to healthy lifestyle choices. Meditation is also considered a very good longevity practice.

Everyone should write their own healthy lifestyle guide, based on their own personal experiences. A healthy lifestyle can greatly increase your quality of life and your life span significantly. It is a shame that it is usually not until we are into our later years that we seem to understand the co-relation between our lifestyle choices and our long term health, and that we are, indeed, what we eat!

My father at 96, is a great inspiration for me to continue my quest for longevity, inspired by him and in his honor, I have created a website to help him reach 100 years of age and beyond. Hopefully it will be a inspiration to all, to choose to live a healthy lifestyle. More soon;-)
